"I think just taking a break of that and taking a break from the world because there's so much comparison on social media and it just really helped me reflect on who I am and not who others around me are."
What has changed in your life during this pandemic?
A lot has changed. I feel like I've definitely spent more time by myself, reflected, grown a lot in my faith, and grown closer to my family. I realized how blessed and lucky I am to have my family and to be at home where I can rest and not have a really busy schedule.
How do you think COVID has changed the world as a whole?
I think it's definitely brought the world together in some parts, but it's also brought it apart. I heard this girl on the radio a while ago saying something like, "I think God wanted us to just take a big break from everything." and I totally agree with that. I think that it has happened for a reason and it's still happening now but at least we're able to go back to normal now.
How have you been taking care of your mental and overall health?
Let's see, I've been trying to spend some time off of social media. I tried to do that on Thanksgiving Day and it was really hard actually because I'm so used to just pressing on the app. But I tried to just take a break off of it and it kind of worked and I went to this weekend camp a couple months ago and we didn't have our phones for two whole days and it was actually nice. I think just taking a break from that and taking a break from the world because there's so much comparison on social media and it just really helped me reflect on who I am and not who others around me are.
How do you think that this pandemic will affect your future?
I think that it'll be cool to tell our kids, in the future, what we had to go through and it was an experience that we didn't know would happen. I don't know how it'll affect my future but it's definitely a good lesson and no matter what happens in the future, we've been through it all.
Why do you think that it's important to have human interactions with each other?
I think that it's really important because when we were on online school, it was like, so depressing, boring, and really hard to be motivated to do schoolwork. But then, I always looked forward to going out and hanging out in the neighborhood afterwards because during the pandemic that was the only place we were able to hang out. It's really interesting to be interacting with people to talk about their feelings and bounce ideas off each other and just have that human interaction. I think that it's really important because that's what we're made to do.
